Ad Reservation Form

Following are the digital specifications for customer- and agency-submitted ads. Failure to adhere to these specifications may result in the ad materials being returned for revisions and will result in the loss of the digital ready discount.

 

PLATFORM:

Macintosh format files. The publication is produced in Quark 4.11. You have the option of either creating your ad as a Quark file or submitting you entire ad as a 200 dpi greyscale Photoshop tiff or jpg (if .tiff or .jpg you can create as a PC image as we can read those PC file formats). The ads must be the correct size as shown in this Ad Guide. Submit your digital files on one of the following formates: Mac 3 1/2" floppy, 100 MB Mac fomatted Zip disk, or Mac Mac/PC CD-ROM .

 

Before sending scan for viruses with an up-to-date virus scanning program. If we detect a virus, your media may be returned to you for virus removal.

 

You may not e-mail in ad materials. Image files of proper resolution are too large.

 

PAGE LAYOUT SOFTWARE:

Create your layout with Quark 4.11 only.

 

FONTS:

Only Mac fonts are acceptable. DO NOT USE TrueType fonts. Make sure to include all fonts with file.

 

ART/LOGOS FILE FORMATS:

Adobe Illustrator EPS format or Photoshop TIFF or jpg format 200 dpi

All text in Illustrator files must be converted to outlines

All Illustrator files should be saved as .eps files

All Photoshop files should be saved as .tif or as hi-resolution .jpg files

 

PHOTO SCANS:

Scan resolution should be 200 dpi (100 line screen)

Photos/any scanned artwork must be greyscale (not color: rgb or cmyk)

Photos should be scanned and placed in Quark file if doing ad layout in Quark.

All photos should be saved as .tif or 200 dpi jpg files-

NOTE-if saving to jpg format save as Baseline Optimized and a Quality setting of 5 or higher.

Crop and/or resize any scanned photos or artwork to within 10% +/- of final size to appear.

 

PROOF:

Provide a laser or inkjet hardcopy proof with each ad.

 

NOTE:

For those of you doing ads on PC we can read your files you create of the the entire ad in Photoshop as a PC tiff or as a high resolution jpg. Or in Illustrator with all fonts converted to outlines.
